What is deodorant?

The benefits and uses of men’s and women’s deodorants (deos) are specially formulated scented body sprays designed to mask body odour.While most people use deodorant to reduce underarm odour, others may use it as a sign of neatness.

How to use dry spray deodorant?

1. Remove appropriate clothing.If you use deodorant without showering, remove your shirt and any clothes underneath.Remove your clothes so you don’t spray them on your skin.Keep your clothes clean so that you can tell later if you have used too much and if traces of deodorant appear on your clothes after they have come into contact with your skin.

2. Dry the skin.Pat the skin with a towel.Remove all moisture.Allow your deodorant to go directly into your pores to avoid clogging with sweat or water.
If your deodorant doubles as an antiperspirant, be sure to follow this rule.The aluminium used in antiperspirants needs to get into the pores to prevent sweating.
If you are using a pure deodorant, try experimenting on both dry and wet skin.Some people think deodorant works best on wet skin

3. Spray on skin.First, shake the can several times to agitate the active ingredient.Aim the nozzle at the target area.Maintain a distance of at least six inches between the nozzle and the skin.Push the nozzle all the way down.Hold for one second, then release to avoid creating too much spray.Wait for the mist to dissipate and then spray for another second as needed.Cover the can when you’re done.
In total, you only need to spray for two to three seconds.
Hold your breath and keep your lips tightly closed while spraying to minimise the amount of mist you inhale.
Do not turn the can upside down.If not upright, the can may not be able to spray its contents, even if it is not empty.

4. If necessary, rub the spray in.Make sure the deodorant is sprayed over the entire area.Rub the residue so that all pores absorb the spray equally.If there is a lot of hair growing there, you can apply the deodorant to the hair with your fingers, allowing it to touch your skin.
You can also spray your hands directly and then rub the deodorant to apply it to other areas.This method may be better for armpits so you don’t have to aim the nozzle too close to your face.
